Prmnt is platform to create, collect, and display on-chain art, with a focus on minimalist, composable and semi-generative works.
We are in the midst of a revolution in the way we consume and store digital value, yet the NFT has been maligned and "pigeon-holed" as just a place to store a jpg reference or ruined by those taking advantage of a hype cycle to extract maximum income for minimum effort.
In a world of AI, everything is possible yet very little has meaning.
Surely, we can do better.
PRMNT is composable, generative, and adaptive, yet PRMNT is forever
We believe in the wild, the weird, the whimsical. We embrace the unknown, adaptive, the unlikely.
We believe creativity is a fundamental good, adding to the world. Being creative for no other reason than it is interesting is a revolutionary idea.
This is not a platform built to make millions. Rather it exists to fascinate, to distract, to show you unexpected things. To add more joy, whimsy, pleasantness to your feeds. To introduce you to creators unknown previously. To give you a reason to post that is not politics, sport, or thirst.
We believe in slow. We are not here to hype and quit. Value is built over time, is in giving collectors agency and sharing income with them.
We are not clever. Or at least, we are not more clever than you. We can be not-clever together
PRMNT is forever
The SVG format allows us to store image data as code. When combined with rendering-on-demand made possible by smart contracts, we can create artworks that adapt and respond to data attributes. Those attributes, in turn, do not have to come from the same place.
Composability between contracts allows us to combine and reuse fragments of image code. This opens up possibilites of combination and collage, often in unforseen ways that open the door to wimsy and happenstance.
The permanent nature of on-chain data is appealing for ownership of digital art, but the massive costs of storage and transaction fees has limited usage.
The proliferation of L2 blockchains with rapid and low cost transactions mean that on-chain imagery has become feasible and cost effective.
Now, any evm compatible chain may be used for PRMNT images
Contracts that add value by re-using your existing owned tokens in interesting ways. Modular plugin render engines, enabling variation as time goes by.
PRMNT is interested in works that ancourage users to have some control over how they are rendered.
A set of values that are used to generate the artwork. May also be used calculate animations and visulisations.
Contracts that take attributes and render art content. These may also combine fragments, backgrounds, themes, and styles based apon attribtue values
Standalone image parts that may be combined into other images. In PRMNT these are ownable and earn royalties.
Modifications injected into svg that alter the visual aspect of the image, without changing the core structure of it.
A set of colors applied to the structure of the art. Typically these are an array of 5 colors.
One feature of bullckchain smart contracts is to reference or include parts of one in another. For onchain images, this means we can combine the attributes from one contract with an image fragment from another, a generator in a third, styles from a 4th, to create a new image.
Even further, if the source attributes change, then if our image uses them to generate our outcome image will change - automagically.
While an on-chain svg artwork is permanent, it allows a structure may be temporarily manipulated (typically in a browser or app).
This means we can alter the layout depending on updating information at time of render. Consider these possibilities:
By passing on royalty payments to owners of attributes, themes, and source fragments we create a virtuous cycle where collectors are encouraged to share the creativity of others.
Owners may create and sell their own drops based on the tokens they control. By taking a snapshot of their settings at a point in time, they create a static version of their token, which they can in turn create editions and sell.
Collections such as Spectrum, Skies, and Layer Cake all allow owners to create sellable drops.
Derivatives are artwork collections that consume source attributes to create new works.

NFTs sometimes have a bad reputation, but in essence it is just a way to make digital things provably ownable.
One goal of Prmnt is to showcase how nfts can be much more than a jpg you can right click and save - a living digital thing with no true state - that becomes a reflection of its owner.
You need a wallet to store your things in with some funds. You can set one up yourself or generate one right here in the connect dialog.
A goal of PRMNT is composability and interactivity - collaboration is welcome and invited.
If you are interested in creating your own dynamic on-chain artworks, display modules, or atribute source contract, get in touch.
